Defence Exams 2021
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the exams are being conducted with the necessary precautions and the notifications for some upcoming exams have already been released. For NDA, CAPF, and CDS, UPSC releases notification as it is the central body to conduct these defence exams. AFCAT is conducted by Indian Air Force and the notification will be released by the Air Force itself. This article covers information about the above-mentioned defence exams.
CAPF
Central Armed Police Forces come under the Ministry of Home Affairs and safeguard the country from internal threats. Its child agencies are BSF, SSB, CISF, NSG, CRPF, etc. The notification for the recruitment of Group A and Group B officers in the security forces has been released by UPSC.
NDA
National Defence Academy recruits young cadets to train them at National Defence Academy to become Officers in Indian Armed Forces. The candidates are trained mentally, physically, and morally to fit in the position of Officers and lead their team successfully. UPSC conducts this exam twice a year. The exam notification for NDA II 2021 will be released in the coming months.
CDS
Central Defence Services Examination is conducted to recruit commissioned officers in the Armed Forces. The candidates are recruited in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Indian Air Force Academy. UPSC conducts it twice a year.
AFCAT
AFCAT is an entrance examination which is conducted by Indian Air Force itself to recruit candidates in Air Force Academy. The notification for AFCAT II will be released by IAF in June 2021 probably.

The Flying Officers pay as per Defence matrix ranges between Rs. 56100-177500 along with MSP. The Flight cadets receive Rs. 56100/- stipend during one year of training.
