CLAT UG Exam 2024 Latest News

The CLAT 2024 exam dates have been announced. The aspirants who fulfill the required criteria can apply to sit for the exam. The CLAT 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on 8th May 2022 in the offline mode. The CLAT 2024 exam is going to be held on December 2023. The dates have been announced by the Consortium of NLUs. The official schedule will soon be made available on their official website. As per new announcements, the fees for CLAT counseling has been reduced from Rs.50000 to 30,000 for general categories and Rs. 20,000 for reserved categories. 

What Is CLAT UG and PG?

CLAT or Common Law Admission Test is meant for those candidates who opt for studying law in their undergraduate(UG) and postgraduate (PG). They can get admitted to 22 NLUs or other private law colleges who accept the CLAT UG,PG scores. The CLAT PG score is also used for recruitment in certain public sector companies like ONGC and BHEL. The CLAT UG exam consists of 150 questions from English Language, Current Affairs, including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.CLAT UG exams are the most common exams taken by law aspirants. Around 50000 students take the exam.

What is the Eligibility for CLAT UG exam?

In order to apply and sit for the CLAT 2024 exam, the candidates should fulfill the eligibility criteria.

CLAT UG Age Limit

The CLAT eligibility criteria says that there are no age limit criteria in the exam. There is also no higher age limit.

CLAT UG Educational Qualification

The educational qualification required for CLAT UG exam is that the candidates who aim to sit for the exam must pass the 10+2 exams or equivalent from a recognised board or university. However, only those candidates who fulfill the following criteria will only be allowed admission if they qualify the CLAT UG exams:

a.     Candidates must pass the class 12 exams from a recognised university or board

b.    The General,OBC,Specially-abled person (SAP) must score 45% in the qualifying exam(class 12)

c.     The sc,st must score 40% in the qualifying exam (class 12)

CLAT Apply Online 2024

Registration for CLAT 2024 exam will soon be open. Candidates need to check the eligibility and other details before applying for the exam. They will be able to directly apply from the official website once the registration is open. It seems that the usual timeline will be followed and the registration will be open from 1st of january 2023. The registration fee for CLAT is Rs. 4000.

CLAT UG Exam Pattern 2024

The CLAT UG exam 2024 is going to be an online exam consisting of 5 portions. The Consortium of NLUs has advised students to go through the latest exam pattern where there will be 150 questions of 1 mark each, which needs to be answered in 120 minutes. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 for each negative response. There will not be any descriptive paper in CLAT Exam UG 2024.

CLAT UG Admit Card 2024

The admit card for CLAT UG 2024 exam will be released by NLU a few weeks before the exam. The candidates who successfully applied for the exam will be eligible to download CLAT UG 2024 admit card from the official website. CLAT Exam Centres 2024

The CLAT 2023 exam was held in 84 cities, rather than being held in 67. It  depends on the number of candidates taking the law entrance exam, on the basis of which, each city is given multiple exam centres. Same goes for CLAT UG.
