Those having a Bachelor's degree from a UGC-recognized university to be eligible for the WBCS exam, along with proficiency in the Bengali Language will be an advantage. This is not mandatory for candidates who have a Nepali mother tongue.

How to Apply Online for the WBCS 2024?
● Visit the official website and register using a valid email id and phone number.
● After validation with an OTP, fill out the complete WBCS Application Form 2024 with the correct information.
● Upload the scanned photograph and signature. Please note that the size should not be more than 100Kb.
● Proceed to pay the application fee to complete the application form.
● Save a copy of the completed WBCS Apply Online form for future reference.
The WBCS application fee is a non-refundable fee to be paid by all the categories to submit the application. However, SC/ST candidates of WB State and Persons with disabilities (40% and above) having a physical disability are exempted to pay any WBCS application fee. The fee shall be paid only in online mode.

WBCS Prelims 2024 exam is like a screening test to shortlist candidates for the WBCS Mains Exam. It is important to note that the Mains and Interview scores are counted for the final selection list.
The WBCS Prelims stage has just 1 paper with only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The Prelims paper consists of General Studies and Aptitude questions of 200 marks to be solved within a duration of 2.5 hours. The marks scored in this exam will not be added to the final result. It is only a screening test to admit students to the mains exam.

What is WBCS Exam?
WBCS, or West Bengal Civil Services Exam, is conducted by the West Bengal Public Service Commission to recruit eligible candidates for various Grade posts in state departments. This annual exam is one of the highly competitive West Bengal State Exams. There are Groups A, B, C, and D under which the posts are announced.

According to WBCS Officer Salary, all the employees will get their salary according to the slabs mentioned below.
● Grade A - 15,600 to 42,000 INR Per Month.

● Grade C - 9,000 to 40,500 INR Per Month.
● Grade D - 7,100 to 37,600 INR Per Month.
There are three stages in the selection process for the WBCS 2024, which are Prelims, Mains & Personality Test (Interview). Mains and Prelims are two mandatory to attend written tests, while shortlisted candidates for the Mains exam will be called for a personality test. This is also known as an interview.
