No official notification has been released by CBSE yet. The notification bears important information regarding the recruitment such as application form dates, eligibility criteria, vacancies, exam dates, exam pattern, etc.

CTET Important Highlights

The Central Board of Secondary Education conducts the CTET exam twice a year- in July and December. The interested candidates should fill the application form online mode. The exam is conducted in offline mode. The teachers are recruited for Primary and Upper Primary Level. The Selection Process only involves clearing the written exam. The selection is completed based on marks obtained in the examination.

CTET Exam Dates

There is no date declared for the CTET July 2021 exam. It is expected to be held in July itself, though. CTET Eligibility Criteria

It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure that he/she fulfills the eligibility criteria as fixed by the CBSE. Only those who are eligible should appear in the examination. The eligibility for the same is checked at a later date. If it is found that the candidate has provided the wrong information, the result can be forfeited.

The eligibility criteria for both Primary and Upper primary levels are different and candidates should check properly before filling the application form.

Eligibility Criteria for Primary (I-V) Teachers

Candidates who are willing to teach classes from 1st to 5th Standard must meet the following criteria.

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or similar to 12th class exam with a minimum of 50% marks and 2 years diploma course in education (D.El.Ed.)

Or

12th standard (Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary) or similar exam with a minimum of 50% marks and 2 years Bachelors in education (B.El.Ed.).

OR

Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary or like 12th exam with minimum 50% marks and a diploma in education (Special Education) recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI)

OR

Any Graduate with 2 years diploma in education (D.El.Ed.) can apply. WB TET Exam Pattern 2021

Eligibility Criteria For Upper Primary Level

  • Candidates must have graduated and should have passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and the candidate must have passed or appeared in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). 
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and have passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) exam with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) exam with at least 50% marks and cleared or appearing in the final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
  • Qualified B.Ed. Programs recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/CTET.

Note-

  • A relaxation of 5% marks is allowed to the ST/SC/OBC/differently-abled candidates.
  • After the appointment, candidates who have completed D.Ed. (Special Education) or qualification needs to undergo a 6-month Special Programme in Elementary Education, recognized by NCTE.

CTET Exam Pattern

The key highlights of the CTET exam pattern are as follows-

  • This is an objective type examination that is conducted in pen and paper mode.
  • There will be two papers- Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Paper-I is conducted for the recruitment of teachers who wish to teach Classes I-V.
  • Paper-II is conducted for the recruitment of teachers who wish to teach Classes VI-VIII.
  • Candidates who are willing to teach either level need to appear for both Paper-I and Paper-II, provided they have completed B.Ed.
  • Both the papers carry 150 questions with 150 marks each.
  • There is no negative marking.
  • 2 hours and 30 minutes are allotted for each paper. Both the papers are conducted on the same day.
  • Candidates have the choice to select two languages.
