The exam is conducted state/district-wise. As candidates fill the application form, the admit card is generated where the document verification and physical Fitness Test are carried out. A medical examination is also conducted fr the candidates who pass the test. If you pass the medical, you are allotted admit card for the written exam which is held 20-30 days after the medical exam. You are advised to check the website for the open rallies in your district/state.


A candidate who falls under the eligibility criteria can apply for the exam. It is important to check with great care whether or not you fall in the criteria. If at any time during the section process the candidate is found ineligible, the candidature shall be canceled.


The candidate must be a citizen of India

Age Limit

The minimum age limit is 17.5 years and the maximum age limit is 23 years.

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent education from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.

For Sol Tech (Aviation & Ammunition Examiner), the candidate must have passed a 10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with min 50% marks in aggregate and min 40% marks in each subject.

Indian Army Technician- Selection Process

Online Registration 

First of all, the candidates are required to register on the Indian Army website and fill up the application form as the open rally is announced. They must take the printout of the admit card which bears the address and date of the next stage.

Document Verification 

When candidates drive for the test, their original documents are verified.

Physical Measurement Test and Physical FitnessTest

The candidates are assessed based on the physical standards criteria mentioned above.

After PMT, a Physical Fitness Test is conducted which bears 100 marks. PFT includes-

The marking system for PFT is as follows-

  • 6.06 Mins to 6.20 Mins - 24 Marks.

  • 9- 33 Marks.
  • 8 - 27 Marks.
  • 7 - 21 Marks.
  • 6 -16 Marks.

Balance- No marks are rewarded for this. It is of qualifying nature.

9 Feet Ditch- No marks are rewarded for this. It is of qualifying nature.

Medical Examination

After passing the PFT/ PMT, candidates are sent for medical examination where they are assessed whether they are a good fit for Army or not.
