Selection: The selection of SSC CGL 2021 is based on 4 stages of exam.
Syllabus: The Syllabus of SSC CGL 2021 is mainly based on English Language/Quantitative Aptitudes/Logical Reasoning/General knowledge and Current affairs.

Stage 2: SSC CGL Tier-2

There is no sectional cut-offs and the negative marking of Paper-I, Paper-II, Paper-III is 0.5 marks and Paper-IV as 0.25 marks.

This section includes written test on Speech. This test includes Easy Writing, Formal and Informal Letter writing. It is an offline-based exam to test the skills of Students. This exam is based on English/Hindi. The exams duration is 60 Minutes and carries 100 Marks. For PWD Candidates total duration is 80 Minutes.

Tier-IV examination required couple of skill sets tests for certain Government Posts all over the country.
DEST ( Data Entry Speed Test ) : For the post of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax),DEST Exam through SSC CGL 2020-21 exam is conducted to check the typing speed of the candidate. The candidates are given an article in English which they have to type on Computer. A candidate is required to type 2000 words in 15 minutes.
CPT ( Computer Proficiency Test ): There are three modules that are important for this exam: Word Processing, Spread Sheets and Generation of slides and the commission demands a candidate to be proficient in it for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner).
Note: Tier-I & Tier-II exam is compulsory for all posts mentioned in the SSC CGL 2020-21 Notification of while Tier-IV exam is taken by candidates applying specifically for TA, CSS, MEA and Inspector.
