The Intelligence Bureau has released the notification for IB Security Assistant & MTS Recruitment 2025 on the official website. There has been a press release from the Ministry of Home Affairs in this regard. The exams for IB Security Assistant & MTS are meant for the recruitment in the posts of Security Assistant/Executive (SA/Exe) & Multi-Tasking Staff/General (MTS/Gen). This year a total of 1671 vacancies are announced. There is a three-tiered selection process which will include an objective type exam, a descriptive exam, and an interview. For the uninitiated, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) is India's intelligence agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs, founded in 1887. Later it underwent division into two different organizations - Intelligence Bureau and Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW). The following are the vital points from the press release by the Ministry of Home Affairs Department for the IB Security Assistants exam. It was issued in October 2025.

●     Candidates up to the age of 27 years are eligible to apply for this recruitment.

●     Candidates must complete matriculation and know the local language.

The exam date for the post of security assistant at the Intelligence Bureau has not been released though there are chances that the exams will commence soon after the application process ends.

●     There is a negative marking of ¼ marks for each wrong answer.

Aspirants aiming to appear in the Intelligence Bureau exam should be aware of all the educational criteria and the age limit criteria before moving forward with their application. All the details are given below.

Aspirants must possess the following educational qualifications to get selected for the exam process.

●     The aspirants must hold Matriculation from a recognized institution.

●     The contenders must be fluent in the local dialect of the particular exam center they are choosing.

The age limit of the security assistant criteria is as follows.

Note - Age Limit Relaxation shall be provided to the contenders belonging to the SC.ST, OBC background as per the rules and regulations.

Step 1: The contenders have to visit the official website, i.e., www.mha.gov.in

Step 2: There, the contenders can find an employment notice for the position of security assistant. They have to click on that PDF.

Step 3: The applicants must read the PDF seriously as it has all the instructions relating to the exam.

Step 4: Now, the aspirants can register themselves by clicking on the “Registration Link”.

Step 5: Now, the aspirants can fill out the form by giving all the correct information about themselves.

Step 6: Next, the aspirants need to deposit the application fee through an online process.

Step 7: Lastly, they can take the printout of the application process and keep it safe.

The admit card has important details like exam date, venue, time of the examination, etc. Candidates can download the admit card by following the below steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website- www.mha.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the link displaying- download the admit card.

Step 3: Enter all the necessary details asked on the portal.

Step 4: Click on the submit button and download the admit card.

Step 5: Take a printout of the admit card and read it carefully for further use.

The 3 stages of the Exam will be as follows:

●     Tier I (Objective Test)

●     Tier II (Descriptive + Spoken Ability)

●     Tier III

Once uploaded by the authority after the exam is finished, aspirants will be able to check the answer key of the Intelligence Bureau security assistant exam. The answer key that will be provided will only have the answers to the Tier-I exam. In case any candidate wants to challenge any answer in the answer key as a wrong one, they can do so by raising an issue through the website. If it is found to be true then the website shall rectify the mistake.

Once the exam is over, the final result will be out around December 2025 to January 2026 tentatively.

●     The salary is revised in accordance with the 7th pay commission.

●     A grade pays of Rs. 2000 shall be paid to the employees with their basic salary
