GSET Eligibility and Cut-off

The examination board selects the cut-off percentage as a mean of their selection criteria each year. Like other state and national exams, cut-off varies according to the reservation criteria set by the government. According to the board, the candidates securing minimum cut-off marks are eligible for interview selection. However, the board only declares 6% of the candidates eligible for the award of GSET e-certification and allots the candidates for the position of the Assistant Professor as per the norms of UGC. 

Application eligibility 

  • Master’s degree or equivalent degree with the marks criteria set by UGC under recognized institute.
  • Candidates require 55% (general) and 50% (reserved category) aggregate in M.A examination.
  • PhD candidate with M.A degree is eligible with 5% relaxation in aggregate
