The exam for Territorial Army recruitment was scheduled to be held on 11th July but due to the COVID-19 crisis, the exam has been postponed. The eligibility criteria for civilians and ex-servicemen are different. You must know which category you fall in and then check whether you fulfill the eligibility criteria for that category. If a candidate is later found to be ineligible, the candidature of the candidate shall be canceled.
Nationality- The candidate must be a citizen of India.
Age Limit- The candidate must be aged between 18-42 years.
Sex- Both men and women can apply.

Physical Standards- The candidates are required to meet the physical standards specified by the conducting authority in order to be recruited.
Employment- Only a candidate who is gainfully employed i.e. has a full-time and reliable paid job, or is self-employed, or is a professional, can apply for the examination.

The selection process of Territorial Army for Civilians has three stages-
Screening Stage- This stage involves a written examination which is divided into four sections. It is discussed later in the article. An Interview round is also conducted at this stage which is conducted by the Preliminary Interview Board.
SSB Interview- This is the second stage which involves a five-day-long Interview at one of the SSB centers.
Medical Examination- The shortlisted candidates in SSB Interview undergo a medical examination to assess whether they are mentally and physically fit to be recruited in Territorial Army.
The Selection process for Ex-Servicemen is as follows-
The Ex-servicemen do not undergo any written examination. They are screened by the Army Headquarters Selection Board.
