The SSC CGL exam is conducted to recruit graduates for various Group 'B' and 'C' posts in the Central Government departments. There are 4 sections, i.e., Reasoning, General awareness, English, and Quantitative aptitude in the SSC CGL Tier 1 syllabus. The complete SSC CGL Tier 1 syllabus 2023 is discussed below. The SSC CGL syllabus for Tier 2 is divided into three sections: Paper 1, Paper 2 & Paper 3. It is also a computer-based test (CBT) similar to the Tier 1 exam. At this stage, there are 130 questions to solve in 2 hours and every question carries a weightage of 3 marks. There is a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer.
Those who have applied for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer will be eligible to appear for Paper 2 & 3, respectively. A total of 100 questions will be asked on Statistics and General Studies (Finance & Economics) each that need to be attempted in 2 hours.
SSC CGL Tier 2 Syllabus 2023: Important Things To Remember
● Paper-I is compulsory for all the categories of posts.
● Paper-II is only for those candidates who apply for the post of Junior Statistical Officer.

Paper 1 of SSC CGL Tier 2 exam contains Computer Knowledge Test (CKT) and Data Entry Speed Test (DEST). The SSC CGL syllabus for CPT & DEST is as follows:
DEST: DEST or Data Entry Speed Test is meant to evaluate a candidate's typing abilities. They must type 2000 words in English on a computer in 15 minutes. They are given an English article that they must type on a computer. The DEST Exam is used to assess a candidate's typing speed for the position of Tax Assistant (Central Excise and Income Tax).
CKT: CKT or Computer Knowledge Test is conducted to check a candidate’s proficiency in Word Processing, Spreadsheets and Generation of Slides. These skills are tested by the SSC for the post of CSS, MEA, Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Preventive Officer), Inspector (Examiner).
