Note: Keeping the safety measurements of the candidates due to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), SBI has postponed the mains examination and it is expected to announce the date soon.

SBI SO Vacancies:

The SBI SO Recruitment 2020 notification PDF has been released. The total number of vacancies is 477. The designation will be Specialist Officer in the State Bank of India. It’s a good opportunity for candidates who are looking to work in the banking sector. However, candidates can apply for vacancies in one state only.

SBI SO Eligibility:

I. Nationality: a candidate must be either:-

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate is issued to him/her by the Government of India.

II. Age Limits:

(a) A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st of April 2020 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January 1990 and not later than 1st January 1999.

(b) The upper age-limit prescribed above will be relaxed:

i. up to a maximum of five years for candidates belonging to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe if the posts are reserved for them;

ii. up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates if the posts are reserved for them;

iii. up to a maximum of five years for ex-employees of banking institutions whose services had to be terminated for reasons of economy or because of bank going into liquidation and personnel retrenched from Government Offices after at least one year's service and currently registered with Employment Exchange;

iv. up to a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Union Territory of Ladakh during the period from 1st January 1980 to 31st December 1989;

v. up to a maximum of five years in the case of ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years Military Service as of 1st September 2019 and have been released;

a. on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be

completed within one year from 1st September 2019) otherwise than by way of

dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency; or

b. on account of physical disability attributable to Military Service; or

c. on invalided.

vi. up to a maximum of five years in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service as of 1st September 2019 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that they can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three months' notice on the selection from the date of receipt of the offer of appointment.

vii. For Gen/EWSs up to a maximum of 10 years in the case of PwBD. For SC/ST/ PwBD up to a maximum of 15 years and for OBC PwBD up to a maximum of 13 years, subject to reservation of vacancies under the respective post. Relaxation in the upper age limit for PwBD will be subject to the posts having been identified as suitable for such disabilities.

viii. For candidates having experience as an officer in Commercial Bank/Financial Institution in Public Sector as also prior experience in Reserve Bank of India, the upper age limit is relaxed to the extent of the number of completed years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For such candidates, the upper age limit should not exceed 33 years including experience. For experience, the probationary period will not be reckoned.

ix. For eligible staff candidates, the relaxation in age limit is according to RBI circular CO. HRMD. No. G-75/ 5599/ 05.01.01/ 2013-2014 dated December 20, 2013.

x. For recruitment to the post of Gr. B (DR)-DEPR/DSIM candidates having Master's Degree with Research/Teaching experience at a recognized Indian/Foreign University/Institute will be eligible for relaxation in upper age to the extent of a number of years of such experience subject to a maximum of three years. For experience, the probationary period will not be reckoned.

III. Minimum Educational Qualifications: The following minimum educational qualifications are prescribed for the posts:

  • An Applicant should have some experience in the IT sector.

 

For Assistant Manager (System) post:

  • Applicants must own a B.E/B. Tech in Information Technology/Computer Science/Computer Application/ Electronics/ Electronics & Telecommunications/ Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics & Communications.
  • Applicant should have some experience in computer programming from a reputed organization.

For Technology Relationship Manager (Tech.RMs) post:

  • The Candidate should be a graduate in Engineering from any recognized University /Institution.
  • Preference is given to the contenders with MBA qualification.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in IT Industry/ Business is needed for this post.

For Manager and Assistant Manager (Technician) post:

  • One needs to have a full-time PG Degree in Econometrics/ Statistics/ Applied Statistics.
  • Minimum experience of 1-4 years is required for this job position.

SBI SO Apply Online:

Candidates applying for the SBI SO exam 2020 can apply for the exam by following a certain set of steps:

  • Aspirants can visit the official website of the State Bank of India (https://sbi.co.in/web/careers/current-openings) to apply online.
  • Candidates need to enter their basic qualifications and other details asked in the form and upload documents accordingly.
  • Candidates need to upload a set of documents, which includes a photograph, signature, handwritten declaration, and thumb impression.
  • Candidates must verify the details carefully before making the final submission as no changes can be made in the form once the payment is complete.
  • The form will not be accepted until the online payment is complete. The application fee for this exam is INR 750 for Gen/OBC candidates and NIL for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Candidates must also note that if any discrepancy is found in the application form, SBI holds the right to reject the application at any time during the recruitment procedure.

SBI SO Admit Card:

  • SBI SO Exam 2020 Admit Card Successful applicants for SBI Main Examination 2020 will be issued their interview call letters very soon.
  • Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of the bank.
  • Candidates should check the e- call letter carefully and bring discrepancies/ errors, if any, to the notice of the Board immediately.

Documents Required with Admit Card:

  • In addition to SBI SO Admit Card, candidates need to present a valid Photo ID proof issued by the GOI or the State Government (original as well as a photocopy) for verification.
  • Acceptable photo ID proofs are PAN Card/ Passport/ Driving Licence/ Voter’s Card/ Bank Passbook with photograph etc.

SBI SO Interview:

  • SBI SO interview round for selected candidates schedule to be announce very soon. It has been postponed amidst nationwide lockdown due to COVID – 19 Outbreak. Candidates will be intimidated with the revised dates on the official website.
  • Only candidates qualifying in the Main exam will be invited for interview round.
  • SBI SO Admit Card (with New Roll Numbers) indicating date, time and venue of the interview will be sent separately to shortlisted candidates on their registered email address.
  • The interview round will carry 50 marks and can be done in English or Hindi language as opted by the candidate.
  • Final merit list will be based on candidates performance in main exam and interview round.
