CTET Eligibility:

Your Eligibility for CTET depends on your Educational Qualification which can be summed up below:

Minimum Educational Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V (Primary Stage)

You should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
You should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education, in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
You should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
You should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
You should be a Graduate and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education

Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage):

You should be a Graduate and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
OR
You should have Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
OR
You should have Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
You should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
OR
You should have passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
You should have Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.

 

CTET Apply Online:

STEP1: Log on to CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in.
STEP2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
STEP3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No. STEP4: Upload Scanned Images of latest Photograph and Signature
STEP5: Pay Examination Fee by e-challan or debit/credit card and net banking
STEP6: Print Confirmation page for record and future reference.

 

CTET Exam pattern:

CTET is a written exam which consists of 2 Papers:
Paper I - For Primary Teachers of classes I to V.
Paper II - For Elementary Teachers of classes VI to VIII.
The exam will be based on the pattern stated below:

CTET Syllabus:

Syllabus:
The CTET consists of 5 Section in Primary level with two language paper, Child development, Maths and Environmental studies. The elementary level consists of Child development, Maths and Social studies/Social Science, two language paper. On the basis of two stages CTET will announce the syllabus details as per the following pattern:


1. Child Development and Pedagogy: Language & Thought, Motivation, and learning, Heredity & Environment, Addressing learners from diverse backgrounds, Principles of children development, etc.
2. Language: Learning and acquisition, grammar, Language comprehension, Reading unseen passages, inference, Pedagogy of Language Development, Remedial Teaching, etc.
3. Mathematics: Language of Mathematics, Series, Geometry, Time & Work, Division, Data Handling, Volume, Community Mathematics, Patterns and Problems of Teaching etc.
4. Environmental Studies: Water, Food, Shelter, Travel, scope & significance of EVS, Family, and Friends, Learning Principles, Concept etc.
5. Science: Innovation, Materials, Food, Problems, Understanding & Appreciating Science, Natural Resources etc.
Social Studies/ Social Sciences: Concept & Nature of Social Science, Social and Political Life, History, Geography, Pedagogical issues etc.
