The candidates must check the notification and satisfy that they fall within the eligibility criteria. At any point of time before or after the written examination or AFSB testing, a candidate is found not eligible on verification; the candidature of such candidate will be canceled.
The candidates must check their eligibility on the following grounds-
The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC entry- 20-24 years. The upper age limit for candidates holding Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA is relaxable up to 26 years.
Ground Duty (Technical and Non-technical)- 20-26 years
Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course. No widows/ widowers or divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age will be eligible. Candidates who marry subsequent to the written examination or during the training will be discharged and are required to furnish all the expenditure incurred on him by the Central Government.
The date of birth entered in the matriculation certificate shall only be entertained by IAF.
Candidates are advised to carefully fill the date of birth in the application form as any variation at a later stage will not be entertained.
Flying Branch- Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and (a) Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
The requirement of educational qualification for the Ground Duty Branch differs for posts like Aeronautical Engineer (Electrical), Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) in Technical Branch and Administration and Logistics Branch and Accounts Branch in Non-technical.
A candidate who is to be given the responsibility of our country should be fit mentally, physically, and emotionally. There are certain grounds on which a candidate’s medical standards are tested.
