Phase I: Preliminary Exam 

The preliminary examination is what you call the examination with objective type questions. There will be three sections in the examination with different mark distributions. The total marks for this exam is 100 as there are 100 questions bearing 1 mark each. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will apply with each wring answer. The question will be of MCQ format. 

Phase II: The Mains Exam

The mains exam will carry a combination of objective and descriptive type questions. There will be 4 sections in this exam with equal mark distribution (30 marks for each section). There will be an English language test at the conclusion of this examination where you need to answer questions on essay and letter writing. A negative marking of 0.25 marks will be applied  with each wrong answer.  

Phase III: The Interview Round 

The interview round is considered  one of the most difficult challenges but with proper help; you can easily overcome it. Once you qualify both the preliminary and the mains exam, you will be called for an interview, qualifying which, you become appointed as an LIC Assistant Engineer, congratulations!
